Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information is collected when you use myinstants.net (“Myinstants”, “we”), why, and the choices you have. You don't need an account to use the site, and we don't ask for your name, email address or other contact details unless you write to us.

Information collected when you use the site

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, which sounds are played, downloaded, shared or saved, what is searched for on the site, the type of device and browser, the approximate location (country and city) and how visitors arrived. Google Analytics uses cookies or similar identifiers to recognise returning visitors. It does not store your full IP address. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Usage recordings (Microsoft Clarity)

We use Microsoft Clarity to see how people use our pages, through heatmaps and recordings of clicks, taps and scrolling. Clarity masks text that people type. See Microsoft's privacy statement.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

The site is funded by ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Server and security logs

Like every website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) and our content delivery and security provider (Cloudflare) process technical data such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and to protect it against abuse and automated traffic.

Search

When you search for a sound, the search words are sent to our server to find matching sounds. We don't link searches to you.

Stored only in your browser

When you save a sound with the heart button, the list of favourites is kept in your browser's local storage on that device. It is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before cookies are used for personalised advertising or analytics, through a consent message provided by Google (a certified consent management platform). Until you choose, Google tags run in a restricted, cookieless mode. You can change your choice at any time with the “Privacy and cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. Because we don't hold accounts or contact details, most data is held by the providers above; you can use their controls linked in this policy. For anything else, email us at contact@myinstants.net.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Some pages link to other websites. Their own privacy policies apply there.

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
